I wanted a sign for the workshop I inherited when I came to the farm. It is the little building you see above that has had many uses: chicken coop, farm workshop, storage shed, junk shed. It was full of junk when I got it. I cleaned it out and found so many treasures! Now it is my space (or place) to create. I made my Anne's Place sign with all kinds of old metal pieces I found last summer, mostly while cleaning out. It consists of a door latch, drill bit, tools, an old fashioned jar opener, bolts, chains, and a wood stove handle. I do love 'using what I have' to create. I do a lot of creating in the summer with my garden produce, herbs and flowers, putting up produce and making wine. Winter provides a space for creating things. I am not a quilter, nor do I crochet or embroider. My creativity goes to barn board, old canning jars, wind chimes, wreaths, wax fire starters and using whatever else I find while doing my winter deep cleaning. Come spring, the sign will go on the side wall with red geraniums along the wall and a different door!
